Riverine Detachment

The Riverine Detachment of the Virginia Defense Force performs inland river and lake search and rescue missions as assigned by the Adjutant General of Virginia. The Detachment is equipped with various patrol craft equipped with state-of-the-art communications and electronics equipment.

The Virginia Defense Force is seeking new members for the Riverine Detachment with skills and experience in the following areas:

- U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue (SAR) training

- Small boat handling certifications

- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Aid certifications

- Ability to work in a team environment
